Momentimpianto... la musica! - Implamoment with music

Un po' di tempo fa sono andato al videonoleggio vicino all'ufficio per prendere un film. Entro nel negozio e...*ouch* ...la musica! Con l'IC appena entro in un locale o un negozio sento subito se c'è la musica o no e nella maggior parte dei casi mi dava abbastanza fastidio perché la percezione era quella di confusione di sottofondo, cacofonia, non aveva niente di melodioso o piacevole.

Mentre ero concentrato nella scelta del film colgo un paio di suoni piacevoli... "Mh... interessante".

I suoni piacevoli da due sono diventati qualcosa durato più secondi. Una specie di onda sonora che andava dall'alto al basso, pulita e morbida. "Uhm sì... piacevole...". La curiosità cresceva, e in pochi secondi la mia attenzione si era spostata dalla lettura dei titoli all'ASCOLTO di un qualcosa di nuovo, strano, "diverso" da tutti i rumori... c'è da dire che il negozio ha un impianto audio di tutto rispetto con le casse posizionate in alto, perciò i suoni giungevano all'IC puliti e nitidi.

Vado dal commesso e chiedo un po' imbarazzato che musica fosse...

"Eh...? Ma..." mi risponde, con la faccia un po' sorpresa.

"No, sai, lo so che è una domanda strana, ma ho un impianto cocleare da poco e la musica per me è una terra inesplorata..." aggiungo io.

"Ah, scusami davvero, no è che mi sembrava strano che non tu la conoscessi, sono molto famosi sono i PGFLD"

"Eh? Io con i nomi inglesi c'ho una capacità di leggere il labiale che fa schifo, me lo potresti scrivere per favore?"

E mi scrive il nome su un post-it.

Dopodiché leggo: Pink Floyd.

Wow... ma allora sono questi i Pink Floyd, non credevo fossero così piacevoli da ascoltare.

Mi si stampa un sorriso a 5900 denti e gli chiedo se sapesse anche il titolo della canzone ma non se lo ricordava. Allora non appena torno a casa mi butto su Youtube a cercare a orecchio *quella canzone lì*. E LA TROVO!

A bit of time ago I went to the movies renting shop near my office place. As I entered in the shop I heard that noise... *ouch*... music! With CI when I get in a shop or a pub I immediately hear if there's music or not and at that time it wasn't pleasant, the feel was very annoying, a feel like confusion, a cacophony.

While I was concentrated about reading movie titles I suddenly catched a pair of pleasant sounds... "Hm... Interesting".

From two pleasant sounds they soon became something that lasted some seconds. Somewhat like an armonious wave with highs and lows, very clean and wiggly. "Hmm...yes...pleasant". Curiosity grew up, and in seconds my attention moved from titles reading to HEARING something new, weird, "different" from noises... The shop has a pro audio system with loudspeakers on the ceiling, so the CI catched clean and sharp sounds.

I went to the shop assistant and asked, a bit embarrassed, which music it was...

"Uh?...but..." he answered me, with some surprise on his face.

"No no, I know it's a strange question, but I have a CI, it's very short time I have it, and so for me music is an unexplored land" I said.

"Aha.. Sorry, really sorry, it sounded weird to me that you don't know them, they're the PGFLD"

"What?! I'm not able to do lipreading with english names, could you write their name please?"

And he wrote their name on a post-it.

Then I read: Pink Floyd.

Whoa! So they're the famous Pink Floyd! I didn't expect that they're so pleasant to hear.

A smile of about 5900 teeth grew on my face and I asked him if he knew the song's title, too, but he didn't. So, as soon as I came back home I quickly went to Youtube to find it by "ear"...by "CI"! AND I FOUND IT!

Tornato - Back

Mea culpa, sono rimasto lontano da questo blog per qualche mese, così come dai forum che trattano di sordità e impianti cocleari, a causa dei troppi impegni quotidiani. Alla sera ero sempre troppo stanco o impegnato in altro per poter scrivere qui (oltretutto in due lingue).

Ma soprattutto l'ho fatto perché avevo bisogno di distaccarmi da tutto ciò che tratta di IC per potermi concentrare di più su me stesso e sulle evoluzioni che sto facendo con questo piccolo magico pezzetto di tecnologia, un percorso più individuale e se vogliamo dirlo anche egoistico. Mi dispiace però, perché so che a molti avrebbe fatto piacere o sarebbe stato utile leggere qualcosa a proposito dei miei *incredibili* progressi. Cercherò di farlo con i prossimi post, promesso.

My fault, I've been away from this blog since months, the same with forums about deafness and IC, due to the fact that I were so busy with my daily stuffs. At the evening I'm always so tired or busy with something else that I don't have any will to write here (in two languages...).

But above all I've done it because I needed to leave for a bit from everything about IC, in order to have a better concentration on myself and to the developments I'm doing with this little magic piece of technology, a more individualistic path and, if we may tell it, more selfish. But I'm sorry about it, because I know that a lot of people out there would find useful to read something concerning my *unbelievable* developments with IC. I'll try to do it with the next posts, I promise.
